Hot Toys Terminator 2 Sarah Connor

Ok, as if we didn’t see this coming, but Hot Toys has announced T2 – Sarah Connor. It does look like her, but I’ll most probably not get this. Purely cause I’ll be saving my moola for the different versions of Arnie! Bring on battle damages T2 Arnie!

12′ inch SAF Soldier in No. 1 & 4 uniform with SAR21

P1030844.jpg

After scoring the 12′ inch SAR21 rifle, I just had to kit bash an SAF soldier in No. 1 & 4 uniforms. Those of you who know me personally would know I’m a Scout PC in the SAF, and thus the soldier with a jungle cap.

P1030841.jpg

I started of with your typical SAF soldier in No. 4 uniform holding onto a carbine, previously the weapon of choice for Recce elements in the SAF. (Do note that SAF’s No. 4 uniform has recently changed in the past couple of years, but I’ve yet to find a proper match in 12′ inch scale.)

And now the SAF solder with the SAR21, the current weapon Recce elements use in the SAF. Some more pics below.

The SAF No.1 uniform is the ceremonial uniform and is often used during special occasions and parades. The 12′ inch uniform I managed to score looks great and has an officer rank, but instead of infantry, it has amour insignias. Haiz. Well you can’t have everything. I’m using a Hot-Toys Truetype body with this.

Sneak: Hot Toys Terminator 2 T-800

Latest news just in! Shaun just posted the pic above of the upcoming Hot Toys T2 T-800 figure!! Arnie is certainly looking awesome! The sculpt looks perfect. I hope they give us a battle damaged head sculpt with the figure instead of milking us dry by putting out a battle damaged version a few months later!

New Goodies Out of Box and Some Others

P1030546.jpg

There’s nothing better than opening the boxes and taking out your brand new figures for display. The 12 inch Sideshow Star Wars figures I just picked up rock. The finishing and paint jobs are excellent. The bodies are also much better and can actually pose properly.

P1030547.jpg

The EZ Devastator is another figure that impressed me. It’s made up of 7 separate ‘legends’ size figures that can actually transform to robot and vehicle mode. And when combined, looks pretty much like the badass Devastator from the movie. Sweet! Articulation is pretty good too. The legs and hands can bend and pose, though slightly limited, but great for such a figure.

I haven’t taken pics of my Hot-Toys T600 – Rubber Skin version or John Connor as yet. The detail of the endoskeleton is amazing! Here are the pics.

I also got myself some DiD 12 inch cases and displayed Iron Man Mark I & III in them. very nice. Just need to find space to display Mark II.

Some of the new Hot Toy’s figures on display at SDCC’09. No new figures, but it’s always good to see more of the Terminator 4 figures. More pics from Cool Toy Review here.

Hot Toy’s Update From The International Tokyo Toy Show 2009

3734049931_2943404990.jpg

Thanks to Eddie’s updates from the International Tokyo Toy Show 2009, there’s so much more to look forward from Hot Toys in the coming months.

Firstly, there’s the new Marvel licence that Hot Toys have gained.

3733922483_06103d58f5.jpg

Apparently it’s licences from the Marvel movies that have come out. Meaning 12′ inch figures from the X-Men trilogy, Spiderman Trilogy and more! Imagine Spidy and Venom figures! oooooo I can’t wait to see what they come up with. The latest Wolverine figure already looks great, though I’m resisting temptation to get it. heh

Another great licence is the Matrix! Yups, finally we may get to see Neo in 12′ inch goodness. Will have to see the pics before deciding. :P

What was unexpected to me was figures from Pixar’s UP. They look really good. I’m so looking forward to the movie and these figures are just adding to the temptation.

Hot Toys just keep coming up with the goodz. And while I’m not sure if I’ll get any of the upcoming figures, I’ve already confirmed my orders for the Terminator 4 figures. Those will keep me bankrupt and busy for the rest of the year!

Do check out the rest of Eddie’s updates, with more pics and writeups there. Good stuff!

Trip to the Toy Carnival @ SAM ** 5 July 2009

3680319032_e78d2bbc44_o

Headed down early in the morning to catch the very first Toy Carnival @ SAM. I must saw I was impressed with the whole set up and the number of vendors who graced the event. Kudos to Roy and team from The Falcon’s Hanger who organised this who event. I arrived at about 9.15am to see the finishing touches to the set up. Boxes were still being unloaded and the toys were still being placed on the tables.

It was great to catch up with Shaun and Ted as well as meeting Ken for the first time. And as soon as the doors opened at 10am sharp, the crowd thronged right in. I work for NHB and it’s not often we see such crowds from the start at the event till the very end. Trust toys to draw people and bring the community together. There were heaps of toy displays, toys for sale and live Star Wars characters walking around. I didn’t take pics of everything, Just some highlights of the day for me.

So what did I end up getting? Well I had high hopes of getting a few 12 inch figures at good prices, but unfortunately those that I liked were marked up way beyond their original prices. And the one I really wanted to get that I could afford, well lets just say some idiotic toy shop owner with his name starting with V barged in and bought the figure. Most probably to sell at a much higher price at his own place. I’ve had previous run-ins with this person and everytime he has been arrogant and unpleasant. grrrrr But I had to get something to at least say I got something, lol. So trust TFH to provide, I got a nice little exclusive WST Hot Rod from them.

And to make me happy, I ended up leaving the fair to collect my Sideshow Darth Vader and Stormtrooper Commander which made my day. Vader rocks and I love his size. Nice and huge in comparison to the Stormtroopers.

P1020710 [1024x768]

The Toy Carnival was a blast. Even if I didn’t really get anything, it was great to see the community of toy collectors coming together and to see all the great stuff on sale and on display. I liked this much better than the Singapore Toy, Games & Comics Convention as it had much more main stream stuff than compared to the Otaku and Vinyl/Pop culture stuff at STGCC. As well as the community feel it had to the carnival. I also ended up checking out SAM’s TransportASIAN photography exhibition with Jas. Some really nice visuals and works on display. All in all, a fun day out!

Hot Toys Terminator Salvation: T600 (Weathered Rubber Skin Version)

Hot Toys have done it again and come up with the Weathered Rubber Skin Version of the T600. I already have the T600 Endoskeleton on pre-order, but this new T600 looks awesome. And being a fan of the Terminator movies, how can I resist not getting this! Hot Toys sure knows how to get suckers like me roped in! :P

My Toy Display

It’s been sometime since I got around to take pics of my toy collection. So I thought I’ll just take a few pics. Apologies if they aren’t the best quality, but hey, I’m lazy and can’t really be bothered. :P And at least I do open up my figures to display them!! I can’t understand collectors who buy figures just to store them in boxes! I mean if you truely are a fan, then damm well open the box, display and play with the figures! Who cares if the value is lost dammit!. Only if you don’t have enough space to display your stuff, then fine, keep them in the cupboard. That’s what I do, but I slowly rotate new and old stuff out of my already bursting cupboard. Can’t wait to get more display cabinets! lol.

Hot Toys Terminator Salvation Pics

  2009514194759637.jpg.jpeg

Straight from the OSW Forums, some latest pics of the 1/6 Terminator Salvation figures from the Hot Toys newly renovated shop in Hong Kong. I’m drooling for the movie and the figures! And being the sucker that I am, I’ve already pre-ordered all the figures. Can’t wait to add them to the great Hot Toys T-800 Endoskeleton that came out sometime back.

And some pics of the new packaging below. Hot Toys blew us away with the Iron Man packaging, but the Terminator Salvation packaging looks to do much better!
