Hot Toys Terminator 2 Sarah Connor

Ok, as if we didn’t see this coming, but Hot Toys has announced T2 – Sarah Connor. It does look like her, but I’ll most probably not get this. Purely cause I’ll be saving my moola for the different versions of Arnie! Bring on battle damages T2 Arnie!

Hot Toys Terminator 2 – T800

Hot Toys has done it again! Welcoming the new year with the official announcement of the T2 T800 figure. It’s Arnold Schwarzenegger at his Terminator best! The head sculpt looks wonderful and with so much detail. Just looking at the pic above you can see the skin tone and shading. Amazing stuff!

Okie, so I’m very sure that Hot Toys will eventually announce a ‘battle damaged’ T800 sometime down the road, with the flesh on Arnie’s head ripped to shreads showing the endoskeleton. It’s part of ‘milking’ us dry. And I’m a sucker for ‘milking. lol Bring it on Hot Toys!

12′ inch SAF Soldier in No. 1 & 4 uniform with SAR21

P1030844.jpg

After scoring the 12′ inch SAR21 rifle, I just had to kit bash an SAF soldier in No. 1 & 4 uniforms. Those of you who know me personally would know I’m a Scout PC in the SAF, and thus the soldier with a jungle cap.

P1030841.jpg

I started of with your typical SAF soldier in No. 4 uniform holding onto a carbine, previously the weapon of choice for Recce elements in the SAF. (Do note that SAF’s No. 4 uniform has recently changed in the past couple of years, but I’ve yet to find a proper match in 12′ inch scale.)

And now the SAF solder with the SAR21, the current weapon Recce elements use in the SAF. Some more pics below.

The SAF No.1 uniform is the ceremonial uniform and is often used during special occasions and parades. The 12′ inch uniform I managed to score looks great and has an officer rank, but instead of infantry, it has amour insignias. Haiz. Well you can’t have everything. I’m using a Hot-Toys Truetype body with this.

12′ inch SAR21 Rifle

P1030854.jpg

The SAR21 is designed and made locally. The rifle is used by the Singapore Armed Forces and most of you who have gone thru NSF or are reservists would have seen it and even used it in the last decade. The rifle has some good reviews. In fact, Popular Mechanics have voted it one of the Top 5 High-Tech Guns for the Next Century.

As stated in my previous post, I recently scored a custom made 12 inch SAR21 rifle. And it’s locally made as well! :) The rifle is nicely sculpted with some great detailing, knobs, screws, etc. there’s even allowance for the rifle sling if you can find a sling that fits the rifle.

P1030855.jpg

The rifle is light weight and has a sturdy feel to it and it feels stronger than most 12 inch rifles that I have collected. Though I’m not about to test it out to find out how strong it is! heh. Too bad the magazine cannot be removed, but it’s nice to see it is accurately transparent with the rounds showing.

There’s just something about having a 12 inch version of something local that appeals to me. It’s ‘one of a kind’. Enjoy the rest of the pics.

Sneak: Hot Toys Terminator 2 T-800

Latest news just in! Shaun just posted the pic above of the upcoming Hot Toys T2 T-800 figure!! Arnie is certainly looking awesome! The sculpt looks perfect. I hope they give us a battle damaged head sculpt with the figure instead of milking us dry by putting out a battle damaged version a few months later!

12′ inch SAR21 Rifle and SAF No.1 Uniform

Found out from Shaun that Yellow Box had a custom made 1/6 SAR21 rifle on sale. I’ve been looking out for a 1/6 version of the rifle in the local forums for awhile and it was a no brainer that I had to get it. Furthermore, it wasn’t at an unreasonable price. I’m pretty impressed with the make, the paint job and material used are good. Firm to the touch and won’t break easily. The only thing missing was the rifle sling, but thats a small issue. There was a few more boxes of the rifle left while I was there, so get your’s quick!

I managed to get an SAF No.1 uniform together with matching shoes while I was there. Will be kitbashing it together and will post more pics once done! This is certainly turning out to be a happy Christmas, some pics below.

New Goodies Out of Box and Some Others

P1030546.jpg

There’s nothing better than opening the boxes and taking out your brand new figures for display. The 12 inch Sideshow Star Wars figures I just picked up rock. The finishing and paint jobs are excellent. The bodies are also much better and can actually pose properly.

P1030547.jpg

The EZ Devastator is another figure that impressed me. It’s made up of 7 separate ‘legends’ size figures that can actually transform to robot and vehicle mode. And when combined, looks pretty much like the badass Devastator from the movie. Sweet! Articulation is pretty good too. The legs and hands can bend and pose, though slightly limited, but great for such a figure.

I haven’t taken pics of my Hot-Toys T600 – Rubber Skin version or John Connor as yet. The detail of the endoskeleton is amazing! Here are the pics.

I also got myself some DiD 12 inch cases and displayed Iron Man Mark I & III in them. very nice. Just need to find space to display Mark II.
